- Pakistani soldiers are, of 20 March 2004, in a brutal fight with Al-Qaida members and tribal figures in Waziristan, Pakistan. Pakistani officials believe that the Al-Qaida members are sheltering Ayman al-Zawahiri, the number two in command of the militant Islamist organization that has been accused of committing the September 11 attacks.
