Pszenno (German: Weizenrodau) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Świdnica, within Świdnica County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland.
The name of the city indicateds wheat in Polish Pszenno.
It is located approximately 9 kilometres (6 mi) east of Świdnica, and 47 kilometres (29 mi) south-west of the regional capital Wrocław.
The) Evangelical inhabitants belonged since 1654 to the Churches of Peace) in nearby Świdnica[citation needed] and since 1741 to the (county) Landkreis Schweidnitz. Until 1773 the Catholic Church belonged to the Jesuits of Świdnica.
In 1874 the Weizenrodau Standesamtregister (civil registrary) was established.
The name Weizenrodau literally means wheat uprooting and indicates that German[citation needed] settlers of the 13th century had cleared the place to grow wheat[citation needed]. The ancestors of the Watzenrode family of Prussia came from here[citation needed].
