Ubuntu One is a storage application and service operated by Canonical Ltd. The service enables users to store and sync files online and between computers. Ubuntu One has a client application that only runs on Ubuntu 9.04, however it is presumed it's web interface can be accessed in most popular browsers. A free Ubuntu One account offers 2 GB of storage. Users may upgrade to 10 GB by paying a monthly fee of $10.

The Ubuntu One service is currently in private beta, users wanting to participate apply for an invitation using their Launchpad account which is then put on a waiting list. The Ubuntu One service is similar to companies such as Dropbox, Box.net, Mozy, Wuala and Humyo.
