In 1974 the seminary was granted authority by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to grant degrees and in 1978 the name was changed to Biblical Theological Seminary.

Dr. David G. Dunbar was inaugurated as Biblical's third president in 1986[2].

Academics

The seminary offers the Master of Arts (M.A.), M.A. in Counseling, M.A. in Ministry, Master of Divinity (M.Div.) and Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) degrees. Certificate programs are also offered. On-line learning is offered in Seminary Beyond Walls program.
