Dinosaur Bar-B-Que's Syracuse Location

Dinosaur Bar-B-Que is a restaurant, blues venue, and biker bar in Syracuse, New York. Opened in 1988 on Willow Street, in downtown Syracuse, it specializes in authentic barbecue, using a wood-fueled barbecue pit. The restaurant markets its sauce, pulled pork, chili, and baked beans at local supermarkets, and at Wegmans, Fairway, D'Agostino's and Shaw's Supermarkets across the Northeast. Two additional locations have also been opened in Rochester, New York in 1998 and Harlem, New York City in 2004.[1] In 2009, they announced that they would open a restaurant in Troy, New York.

In 2001, a cookbook with many of the restaurants recipes was published titled "Dinosaur Bar-B-Que: An American Roadhouse[2]

Norovirus Outbreak

In late November 2006, its Syracuse location was affected by the Norovirus and was closed for about a week until cleared to reopen by county health inspectors. Hundreds of customers and employees were affected. It is unclear how the virus materialized. Onondaga County health inspectors have not found fault on the part of the restaurant. In fact, they have applauded the restaurant for its complicity and resolve.[3]

Best Bar B Que Joint award

In May 2009 Dinosaur Bar-B-Que was voted America's best barbecue in ABC's "Good Morning America" poll. Dinosaur Bar B Que was selected as winner of Good Morning America's Best Barbecue in the country, beating out entrants from across the United States. Approximately 4000 out of the 7500 participants in the poll selected Dinosaur Bar-B-Que as the best in the nation.[4][5]
