She was the winner of the 2001 Miss Hong Kong contest. She had been the favourite among audiences since the very beginning of the competition. She won 6 awards and she currently holds the record for the most awards won by Miss HK. Shirley Yeung participated in Miss Chinese International 2002, where she made the top 5.
