Forget and Not Slow Down is the sixth studio album by Rock band Relient K. In early 2009, the band began to write music for an album to be released later in 2009.[1] Lead singer Matt Thiessen stated that they were keen on finishing the album for a 2009 release and had begun recording the new album with their "favorite" producer, Mark Lee Townsend at Dark Horse Recording in Tennessee. After recording a few tracks, they stated that they would travel to California to record some more tracks with John Feldmann. Webisodes released weekly via the band's MySpace and Facebook pages shows the recording progress in the studio.[2] On May 8, 2009, Thiessen announced on his Twitter account that the new album would be called Forget And Not Slow Down, which will also be the title of a song on the album.[3] The following day, while at Glory at the Gardens at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, they announced that the album should be released around October.

The release will be the first full album since the departure of longtime drummer Dave Douglas at the end of 2007. Ethan Luck has replaced him as the drummer for the band. The album will also be the first Relient K album with Mono Vs Stereo.

It was recently announced on the Tooth and Nail Records Official Podcast that Matt MacDonald from The Classic Crime will be a guest vocalist on the album.

Lead singer Matthew Thiessen has announced via his Twitter account that the band has completed recording seven songs and will complete four more in July for a total of eleven songs.

On July 9, 2009 Gotee Records announced on Twitter that Forget and Not Slow Down is to be released on October 6, 2009.

On August 20, the track listing and cover art were released, in addition to the information that the first single is the title track, and that it in fact has already been released to some Christian radio stations. On August 22nd, the song leaked to sites such as Youtube.[4]

When he released the track listing, Matt Thiessen announced that the missing numbers on the track list are interludes.

It is rumored that Aaron Gillespie of The Almost and Underoath and Tim Skipper of House Of Heroes had done guest vocals for the album.
