Sunye

Min Sun Ye (Hangul: 민선예; Hanja: 閔先藝) is a South Korean singer and is part of the Korean Pop sensation Wonder Girls


Personal Life

At a young age SunYe's mother passed away, with her father being too ill to look after her she was taken in by her grandparents who looked after her ever since. Having such strong dreams of becoming a singer, SunYe auditioned on 99% Infinite Challenge, a talent show looking for young new talents lead by Park Jinyoung, CEO of JYP Entertainment. She eventually won the competition and disappeared from the public eye. She trained for 6 years under JYP Entertainment before debuted as a leader of the Wonder Girls in 2007.

Sunye had been rumored to be dating Park Taehwan a gold medalist in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.


Career Life

Her effort throughout 7 years of training is the reason JYP created Wonder Girls for her and let her stand as the group “leader". Even though many difficulties have exist, she had overcome it all and became a great leader of the group. She's not selfish, often in award ceremonies, she will always push her members to receive the award or make the speech.

On September 14, 2007, Sunye and the Wonder Girls got into a car accident, during the car accident, she successfully pulled Sunmi out of the way and got injured by the leg instead, this left her a small scar on her leg, mostly this is the reason why she doesn't wear as much skirts and shorts as other members of the group.

After back from promoted “Tell Me” in Thailand, Wonder Girls prepared for the new come back and because of the concept Sunye have to wearing a wig throughout the promotion. But after the “So Hot” come back stage she decided to cutted her hair short instead wearing a wig, she said she felt uncomfortable with it. People like her short hair and it match well with “Energy” concept, the single Sunye officially collab with“Mighty Mouth".

During the "1st Wonder" concert tour, because many nights of hard practice she she fell sick. Ye-eun also said in Wonder Girls's TV-Show "Welcome to the Wonderland" that Sunye can't go to see the doctor, that's the reason she seemed look sick throughout the 2 months of concert tour.
