In the Sonic the Hedgehog series of video games by SEGA, Black Arms are an alien race. They appear in the game Shadow the Hedgehog. They invaded Planet Earth for search of the seven Chaos Emeralds. Black Doom is in charge of the Black Arms

Black Doom

The leader of Black Arms, Black Doom is the force behind the invasion of planet Earth. He apparently had a now-forgotten deal with Shadow the Hedgehog to retrieve the seven Chaos Emeralds, and he now (apparently) promises to help Shadow find the truth about his past in exchange for them. It is later found out that Black Doom helped create Shadow in a deal with Gerald Robotnik and used some of his own DNA for Shadow so he is Shadow's only known biological relative.

Doom's Eye

Doom's Eye

Black Doom's third eye will guide Shadow in many of his Dark missions. Doom's Eye does not actively do very much. It acts as a communicator between Shadow and Black Doom, allowing Black Doom to give advice during the Dark missions and sometimes even projecting an image of Black Doom.

It is speculated that Black Doom and Devil Doom are merely puppets, and that Doom's Eye is the real Black Doom. This is possible due to the fact Doom's Eye is on Black Doom's head all the time (he is not once seen without it), also if you look at Black Doom closely, you can see that Black Doom has no body (he only has his head and hands), and that it was Doom's Eye that was on Devil Doom, and nothing of Black Doom was. However, this brings up a question: why would the real Black Doom (Doom's Eye) go out and put himself in danger on the field without the puppet?

Black Army

In addition to Black Doom and Doom's Eye, there are other aliens composing the army invading the Earth. In gameplay, they will attack Shadow and will not help him, even if he is attempting to complete one of Black Doom's missions. Members of the army include the Black Warriors, Black Oaks and Sand Worms. The following is a list of Black Arms.

Death Leeches (Offspring)

The Death Leeches are described by Black Doom as the Black Arms' offspring, meaning that there must be male and female aliens. Black Leeches are pulsating purple blobs with horns and one eye in the middle of their bodies. They are simple to defeat, but a lot of them in one place can be irritating.

Black Warriors

These are the most common Black Arms aliens you'll see throughout the game. They are normal sized and each carry different weapons (guns, swords, shields, etc.).

Black Oak

The "giants" of the Black Arms. They have high HP and carry giant swords, laser blasters and sometimes shields. They are slow moving, but are difficult to defeat with weak weapons. The Hammer Oaks attack with hammer-like clubs.

Black Arms Annelids

These are giant worms that appear in some stages. They burrow underground and attack from beneath, using smaller worms that home in on their prey. (According to Doom's Eye, the worms accomplish this by detecting their target's vital signs.) They can be quite annoying to beat, especially during the last stages.

Black Wing

A small bat like-creature similar to Black Hawks. They are much weaker.

Black Hawk

Black Hawk

These small winged dragons can be used as vehicles to fly around in certain parts of the game. The Black Hawks with golden armour allow you to shoot as you fly with them. They come in many different shapes, sizes and health. Some are not flyable. They are not to be confused with a Black Hawk helicopter.

Black Volt

Most powerful flying Black Arm. These creatures are like Black Hawks but are slightly yellow and can shoot from their mouthes.

Black Assassin

These only appear in the Black Comet stages. They have high HP and have the ability to disappear and reappear. They also carry a useful, red laser gun, which, in the game's manual, is called the "Refractor". Other then this, they aren't that much different from the Black arms soldiers.

Black Bull

This seems to be one of the most powerful Black Arms aliens and either Black Doom's right-hand or his own personal pet. He resembles a cross between a giant maggot and a dragon. This Black Arms alien appears twice in the game and both times as a boss. His only weak spot is his eye, and he can breath fire.

Black Weaponry and Vehicles

Black Hawks

Once tamed the Black Hawk becomes ridable. Black Hawks are unable to fire weapons of their own, but you can shoot on them. You also are able to accelerate.

Black Volts

The same as Black Hawks, but they are slightly yellow and can fire they're own weapons.

Air Saucers

Floating discs which Shadow may use to cross hazardous surfaces, such as toxic water.

Black Cannons

Powerful alien cannons that can be used to destroy things such as ships.

Tankships

Large Black Arms battleship. They cannot be rode by Shadow. They usually appear in Black Comet stages, where they spawn enemies, etc. Destroying them generally opens a door to the next room. The only exception to this rule is Lethal Highway, where an battleship can be chased through the level. Destroying it would take you to Circus Park.

Black Comet

Template:Spoiler The Black Comet is a comet that passes by the Earth every 50 years from the game Shadow the Hedgehog. The Black Comet is also the home of the Black Arm aliens, or possibly a mode of transport. During the time the Black Comet passes by the Earth, the Black Arms fulfill another part of their plan. 50 years prior to the events of the game, Black Doom made a pact with Dr. Gerald Robotnik in order to create the Ultimate Lifeform, Shadow, this would help Gerald in his research and Black Doom in his quest to collect the 7 chaos emeralds. 50 years later when the Black Comet passed by the Earth again and during the beginning of the game, the aliens begin their mission to collect the 7 chaos emeralds and invade the Earth.

The Black Comet's velocity isn't fast enough to make it through the Earth's atmosphere, so at the end of the game, Black Doom uses the Chaos Emeralds to "Chaos Control" the comet down to Earth.

The Black Comet is eventually destroyed along with all the Black Arms inside it at the end of the game by the Eclipse Cannon, the main armament of the Space Colony ARK.

Inside the Black Comet are strange objects that look suspiciously like the "limbs" of the Biolizard. It can be suspected that there's a connection. They have large eggs in the comet, where the eggs of Black Doom's spawn are. On the planet and in the comet are strange plants.
