I think we should expand this article.Banana.Girl 20:18, 5 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Platinum Weird note (check your fiction)

A mockumentary has been made to go with the Platinum Weird album, and editors should be careful about mixing fact with fiction. I will list some anachronisms here for a later PW article (waiting until they release an album) as a reality check.

  • (as of today) On the platinumweird.com main page, Erin Grace is shown holding a Polaroid Pronto OneStep camera in one of the "1974" pictures. That camera was produced beginning in 1977 for the 1978 season.
  • The "lost 1974 interview" on various PW Web sites is with an adult Adam Curry, but he was 10 years old in 1974.
  • One of the "lost 1974" tracks is with George Harrison, singing "This Guitar", but his voice is as it sounded in the 1990s. (this has since been pulled off the main PW page, too many people noticed this.)

More anachronisms will come, if and when I recall them.

This isn't some "shocking truth" that needs to be made prominent in related articles -- that's why I added it at the bottom -- but we shouldn't be misreprenting fiction as fact on Wikipedia.

I've extended the story, because people really need to think twice. This is an organized attempt at misinformation and I have no intention of allowing DioGuardi and Stewart deceive people on this scale. KittenKlub 16:41, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Relatives

Is it known whether Kara DioGuardi is related to former Congressman Joseph DioGuardi? 208.65.57.69 (talk) 16:22, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oops ... the answer is yes.208.65.57.69 (talk) 16:23, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Warner Music Group Fluff Edits

IP addresses registered to Warner Music Group (where DioGuardi is senior VP of A&R) have made repeated attempts to edit out mentions of The One: Making a Music Star. Let's keep an eye out for fluff edits in the future. -- Aeonian (talk) 23:29, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Website Spam

For some reason her webmaster thought it was necessary to include the following text hidden on her website:

GWEN STEFANI. BRITNEY SPEARS. PUSSYCAT DOLLS. KYLIE MINOGUE. ASHLEE SIMPSON. CLAY AIKEN. LINDSAY LOHAN. JESSICA SIMPSON. SANTANA. ANASTACIA

So? Is this at all relevant to Wikipedia? -- Aeonian (talk) 19:20, 29 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

They hide things like that to coin in on search results... Some search engines forbidden this (looking on hidden results within page code)... Great find... Boredom Swells (talk) 04:36, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It was necessary for the google summary to read right. Its not spam, just an old method of tagging. Sytable (talk) 21:23, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Birthplace

The text says Ossining, the Infobox says Scarsdale. What is correct? --slg (talk) 13:25, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I originally would have guessed Ossining as there is a reference provided for it in the article: nydailynews.com while the Kara DioGuardi imdb.com entry says Scarsdale abut imdb.com isn't the most reliable site in the world. However after some googling nypost.com, hvmag.com say Scarsdale and even nydailynews.com goes back on its original story of four months previous (first link). Also there are 130 ghits for "Kara DioGuardi Ossining" while there are 1090 for Scarsdale. So its probably Scarsdale but I don't know. AngelOfSadness talk 22:36, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Quitting Idol

There are VERY MANY rumors that Kara might not return on the next season of American Idol. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 13taylor (talkcontribs) 22:20, 5 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Professional songwriting section.

This section of the article seems to be the most jumbled, uncited, and vaguely informative. Among the scattered and many "citation needed" tags (which we should work on finding sources). I believe this entire section needs to be thoroughly redone in a more fashionable manner. Kara has written 200+ songs since the start of her career and this section seems to only be pointing out a few works of hers, and those are more recent ones. It seems as though people have just picked out their favorite songs/artists that she has written for and added them to the section in the manner I exampled below. I believe that the section should be written to be more informative about her whole professional songwriting career, which includes working with many many artists and other songwriters, writing 200+ songs. I also do not think the section should look like:

"In (year), Kara worked with (artist) and did this"
"In (year), Kara worked with (artist) and did this"
"In (year), Kara worked with (artist) and did this"

That same line is currently being repeated in this section many times with just different years, artists and works and that is not being informative about her songwriting career.

Do you agree this section should be redone? Rockin56 (talk) 02:12, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Make ten edits, I believe, and you'll be authorized. Which you should have no problem with now. Gage (talk) 04:34, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
