Hi All,
TESTING 123.. I understand that ESX3.5 U2 has introduced VSS snapshotting support.
From my brief research I understand that this is supported through the VCB process for Windows VMs.
Am i correct in assuming that a manual snapshot via VC does not envoke the VSS service?
We are currently setting up a site using HP Storage Mirroring for Virtual Infrastructure (Double-take rebadged) to replicate some of our VMs to a disaster recovery site. Storage Mirroring invokes VC snapshots every 15 minutes to replicate any changes to the VMs.
My question is will any snapshot taken through VC on a Windows based guest now use the VSS capabilities or is it only via the VCB process that this is available?
Cheers,
