Repo Men (formerly known as Repossession Mambo[1]) is an upcoming Template:Fy science fiction action thriller directed by Miguel Sapochnik, and starring Jude Law and Forest Whitaker.[2]
Production
In 2003, screenwriters Eric Garcia and Garrett Lerner began collaborating with Miguel Sapochnik on a screenplay based on a novel being written by Garcia, which has since been published as of March 31, 2009. However, this movie also happens to be oddly similar to the plot of Repo! The Genetic Opera, which had been created in the early 1990s, and didn't see film release until 2008. In June 2007, Universal Pictures cast Jude Law and Forest Whitaker into the futuristic adventure thriller Repo Men!. The film will be directed by Sapochnik in his directorial debut. Production began in September 2007.[3] Casting for this film was done by Mindy Marin, production design by David Sandefur, art direction by Dan Yarhi, set decoration by Clive Thomasson, and costume design by Caroline Harris.[4]
Cast
- Jude Law portrays Remy, a repo man.[5]
- Forest Whitaker portrays Remy's former partner, Jake Freivald.[6] Whitaker, experienced in the martial art of kali, used it in the film.[7]
- Carice Van Houten portrays Remy's current wife.[6]
- Alice Braga portrays Beth, Remy's former wife.[5]
- Liev Schreiber portrays Frank, Remy's chief.[8]
Similarity to REPO! The Genetic Opera
Some critics[who?] have mentioned the similarity of this film to the 2008 musical Repo! The Genetic Opera.
