Group D of the 2010 FIFA World Cup will take place on 13–23 June 2010.[1] The group consists of Germany, Australia, Serbia and Ghana.

In latest FIFA World Rankings, Germany is ranked 6th, Serbia 20th, Australia 21st, and Ghana 37th. The group average is 21st; excluding the lowest-ranked Ghana, the average is 16th.[2] Along with Group G it is considered to be a Group of death.

The winners of this group will advance to face the runners-up in Group C. The runners-up of this group will face the winners of Group C.
