Mary Taylor is a certified public accountant and a politician from the Republican Party from the state of Ohio. Taylor currently serves as Ohio State Auditor. She previously served in the Ohio House of Representatives, representing the 43rd house district. Taylor defeated Democratic candidate Barbara Sykes. Taylor, who succeeded fellow Republican Betty Montgomery as State Auditor, took office in January 2007. She was the only Republican in Ohio to be elected to a statewide non-judicial office during the 2006 election. On January 14, 2010, it was revealed that she was John Kasich's choice as Lieutenant Governor and running mate for Governor of Ohio in the 2010 Election [1]
