Richard Howard "Rick" Hilton[1] (born August 17, 1955) is the Chairman and co-founder of Hilton & Hyland,[2]a real estate brokerages firm based in Beverly Hills that specializes in homes and estates in Beverly Hills, Holmby Hills, Bel-Air, Brentwood, Pacific Palisades, Malibu, and Hollywood Hills, as well as estates from Santa Barbara to San Diego.

Biography

Rick Hilton was born in Los Angeles, California, the sixth of eight children of Barron Hilton (son of Hilton Hotel founder Conrad Hilton), and Marilyn June Hawley. In 1978, Rick graduated from the University of Denver with a degree in hotel and restaurant management. His brothers and sisters are: William Barron Hilton, Jr. (born 1948); Hawley Anne Hilton (born 1949); Stephen Michael Hilton (born 1950); David Alan Hilton (born 1952); Sharon Constance Hilton (born 1953); Daniel Kevin Hilton (born 1962); and Ronald Jeffrey Hilton (born 1963).

Rick and his wife Kathy who have been married more than 30 years, are the proud parents of four children.

Career

Rick got his start in the real estate business when he joined the New York office of Eastdil Secured, formerly Eastdil Realty, Inc., a real estate investment banking firm in the United States. He specialized in securing participation of institutional investors and pension funds in various real estate transactions.

In 1984, he formed Hilton Realty Investment to handle his commercial real estate investment activities, including the structuring of hotel transactions between land owners, develoopers, and hotel management companies. He represented the buyer in the purchase of The Bevery Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, among other real estate transactions.

For the past 25 years, Rick has specialized in the sales of residential real estate in Los Angeles' communities. As a principal, he developed the gated Brentwood Country Estates, which consists of 13 estate lots averaging 4 acres each. Rick developed 9 of the 13 sites with custom homes, including one property which recently set a record sale price for all the Brentwood.

As Chairman of Hilton & Hyland which he founded with partner Jeffrey Hyland, Rick has personally handled more than $2 billion in residential transactions, including estates in Beverly Hills, Holmby Hills, and Bel-Air. He is currently a co-broker for the sale of Candy Spelling's "The Manor" in Holmby Hills which is listed at $150 million.
