Buford High School is a public four year comprehensive high school located in the northern portion of Gwinnett County, Georgia in the northern Metro Atlanta area. Buford serves the community of Gainesville.

About Buford

Opened in 1948, Buford High School has enjoyed major success in academics, athletics & in the arts. In 2009, Buford was awarded a SILVER AWARD for Highest Percentage of Students Meeting and Exceeding Standards. The Award is given by the State of Georgia Governor's Office of Achievement. The school has a student to teacher ratio of 15 to 1.

Football

The Buford Wolves football team is currently one of the best teams in the state of Georgia and has contended for the National Title in recent seasons. Buford has only lost 3 regular season games since the 2000 season and have ranked in the top 5 of their respective GHSA Class for the past ten seasons. Since 2000, Buford has secured 6 state titles and posted two "3-peats," the first from 2001-03 and the most recent being 2007-09.

Softball

The Buford Lady Wolves won the Class AA State Championship for the 3rd consecutive season in 2009 with a 9-0 victory in 5 innings over the Region 7-AA Champions, Rockmart Lady Yellow Jackets. Rockmart High School defeated the Lady Wolves 2-0 in the first game of the state championship, forcing an "if" game, but it was all Lady Wolves in the finale as Buford jumped to a first inning lead and never looked back.

Ladys Basketball

The Lady Wolves Basketball team are currently back-to-back Class AA State Champions, beating undefeated Vidalia High School for their second straight title on March 13, 2010.

Band of Wolves

The Buford Band of Wolves feature members from grades 7-12. The band is approximately 40 members strong as of 2009 and despite there size are award winning.
