KKNG (97.3 FM, "97.3 King Country") is a classic country music formatted radio station serving the south Oklahoma City area and is owned by Tyler Media.

History

The station broadcast with the calls KBXR beginning in March 1984 and was licensed to Weatherford, Oklahoma. The station changed calls to KWEY-FM on September 20, 1991. The station previously used the moniker "97.3 The Coyote" when it was a country station before changing calls to KOJK in February 2006. During this time it moved closer to Oklahoma City and began using the ABC Networks' "Jack FM" network for programming. On March 8th, 2010 KOJK dropped the Jack FM format and became known as 97.3 King Country. The Last song played on 97.3 Jack FM was The Beatles "I'll Cry Instead".
