Fugative (born Harry James Byart, 11 March 1994 born in Greenwich, London, England (later moving to Loughton, Essex), UK is a British hip hop, grime and R&B artist whose music is all self-written and self-produced.[1] He was signed by Kirk Burrowes, the former manager of Mary J. Blige and co-founder of Bad Boy Records, after Burrowes was impressed upon hearing some of his material[2] when contacted by his mother who used to manage Marvin Gaye.[citation needed]
Fugative has toured with Basshunter[3] and has been favourably received by BBC Radio One's Nick Grimshaw who proclaimed, 'This kid is the NUTS!' on his Switch radio show.[4]
His debut single, It's Summertime, peaked at number 2 in the UK Urban Chart before remaining in the top five for seventeen consecutive weeks[5]. This was followed by the release of Jimmy Shoe on 6 April 2009, whilst his latest offering, Supafly, reached Number 48 in the UK Singles chart.[6] He releases his latest single, "Crush", in the UK on May 10, 2010.
