Crown Princess Yasmine Pahlavi (born Amini, 26 June 1968) is the wife of Reza Pahlavi, born crown prince to the throne of Iran.

If not for the Islamic revolution in Iran, she would be Shahbanou (Empress) and would be styled Her Imperial Majesty. However, she does not use nor has claimed this style or title.

Biography

Yasmine Etemad Amini was born in Tehran, Iran on July 26, 1968. She attended private school in Tehran until the rising tensions in the late 1970s forced her family to leave Iran permanently. They settled in the San Francisco area in California where she attended and matriculated Notre Dame High School.

In 1986 she met Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi of Iran. Following a brief courtship, they were married on June 12, 1986. Despite the many responsibilities of her new role, Princess Yasmine continued her education, receiving a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in political science from The George Washington University in Washington DC. Consequently, she received her doctorate in jurisprudence (JD) from The George Washington University Law School and was admitted to the Bar in 1998.

Princess Yasmine's professional career culminated in a position as an attorney at The Children's Law Center, where she worked for ten years representing the interests of at-risk youth. The Law Center is recognized for its important work in protecting some of the most vulnerable members of society.

She is the Founder and one of the Directors of the Foundation for the Children of Iran. Started in 1991, the Foundation's mission is to marshal the considerable resources and goodwill of the Iranian diaspora coupled with remarkable expertise and generosity of the American medical community to treat Iranian children suffering from complex medical conditions. Organized under the 501(c)(3) rules of Internal Revenue Service, the Foundation has faithfully fulfilled its mission to restore the health and quality of life for scores of Iranian children regardless of race, religion, or political affiliations.

Princess Yasmine Pahlavi lives in the United States with her husband Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi and their three daughters, Princess Noor Pahlavi, born on April 3, 1992 and Princess Iman Pahlavi born on September 12, 1993 and Princess Farah Pahlavi, born on January 17th, 2004.

Marriage & Children

Yasmine married Crown Prince of Iran, Reza Pahlavi on June 12, 1986, and the couple have three daughters:

1. HIH Princess Noor, born April 3, 1992
2. HIH Princess Iman, born September 12, 1993
3. HIH Princess Farah, born January 17, 2004

The family currently lives in exile in the United States.

Politics

Yasmine Pahlavi has been a vocal supporter of the democracy movement in Iran, appearing at several pro-democracy rallies occurring after the 2009 election upheaval in Iran.

Honors

• She was awarded the Royal Order of the Drum by King Kigeli V of Rwanda.
