He was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the National Football League's 2010 draft, a move that was widely regarded as the biggest surprise of the 2010 draft.[1][2][3]

High school career

Alualu attended and graduated from St. Louis School in Hawaii in 2005. He was selected to the all-state team twice by the Honolulu Star Bulletin. He was ranked as the No. 2 player in Hawaii and the No. 24 defensive tackle in America by Rivals.com for 2005. He recorded 7 sacks and 59 tackles in high school. [4] During his senior year, he was named the ILH Player of the Year by the Honolulu Advertiser. [5]

College career

Alualu played all 13 games his first season, with his first start against Oregon State. He posted 16 tackles with his career-best 6 against UCLA. [6] Following his senior season, he represented Cal at the 2010 Senior Bowl.

Professional Career

Tyson Alualu was drafted as the tenth overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Personal

Alualu signed with Cal and was in Berkeley for the 2005 summer session. Before fall semester classes began he returned home to get married and to see the birth of his first child, Tyree. He returned to Cal and enrolled in January 2006. [7] Alualu also has a daughter, Dere'on.[8]
