Founded in 1971 - with the purpose of supplying the Brazilian refrigeration industry which, up until then, relied entirely on imported compressors - EMBRACO began production in 1974. It was in this same decade when it began to export to markets in The Americas.

In the 1980s the sales and distribution structure reaches over 80 countries. Anticipating a globalized economy, the company decided to set up productive bases overseas and soon became world leader; today it holds a 25% market share.

EMBRACO employs around 10,000 people worldwide and focuses on both the talent of its employees, as well as a permanent investment in technology, thus gaining recognition as a supplier of excellence. EMBRACO supplies large international household refrigeration OEMs as well as the biggest manufacturers of commercial refrigeration equipment.

Its headquarters and main factory is in Joinville, Santa Catarina, in the southern region of Brazil. EMBRACO also has factories in Italy, Slovakia and China, as well as a business office in the United States. EMBRACO produces hermetic compressors, condensing units and sealed units, for domestic and commercial use.
