"Take It Off"
Song

"Take It Off" is a electropop upcoming single by American recording artist and songwriter Kesha, from her debut album, Animal. Prior to the release of Animal, the song charted in the United States and Canada.

In a March 2010 interview for UK website Digital Spy, Kesha stated that "Your Love Is My Drug" and "Take It Off" are being considered as candidates for the third single from the album.[1]. I t was then announced that Your Love Is My Drug would be the third single. In 2010 Dr. Luke tweeted that Take It Off and Kiss N' Tell were being considered for the fourth single. It was then reported that "Take it Off" would be the next single after the success of Your Love Is My Drug.[2]

Critical reception

In a negavtive review of Animal, The Phoenix called "Take it Off" "a heavily Auto-Tuned reworking" of "There's a Place in France".[3].In positive review of Take It Off a blog said "Kesha's new song, 'Take It Off,' cements her status as one of the most electrifying dance artists today. With its thumping opening, electro-infused beat and furious crescendos, the dance single is all but guaranteed to be a staple at clubs everywhere this summer."[4]

Chart performance

The song entered the Billboard Hot 100 at number eighty-five in the third week of 2010. It also entered the Canadian Hot 100 in the same week at number forty-five, although it wasn't officially released as a single. It had spent a total of eleven weeks on the chart in Canada.[5]
