Esteban Efraín Paredes Quintanilla (born August 1, 1980 in Santiago, Chile) is a Chilean footballer who plays as Attacking midfielder or Second Striker for Colo-Colo in Chilean Primera División.

Career

He has played in teams like Deportes Puerto Montt, Universidad de Concepción, Pachuca, Santiago Morning and Cobreloa.

Moreover he played at the Copa Libertadores 2004 with Universidad de Concepción.

He was the Top Scorer of 2009 Apertura with 17 goals.

In 2009 Colo Colo acquired Paredes for the Torneo Clausura 2009, he joined the club at the request of coach Hugo Tocalli. In July 25 Colo-Colo defeated Universidad de Concepción 3-1 with 3 goals of Paredes.

National

He played a friendly, wearing the shirt of the Chile national team, in 2006, against Colombia and Peru. Esteban waited 3 years to have a new opportunity with the Chilean National Football Team. He's now an alternative for Humberto Suazo, alongside Héctor Mancilla.

Personal Life

Esteban is a keen philatelist and has a selection of lithographed 10-centavo stamps which feature his great great grandfather Fernando Sebastian Othalathabal riding an alpaca.
