Dabangg is an upcoming Bollywood action film, directed by Abhinav Kashyap and produced by Arbaaz Khan, set to be released on 10 September 2010.[1] It is the first film of newly launched Arbaaz Khan productions. The lead actors in the film include Arbaaz's elder brother, Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha, daughter of Shatrughan Sinha. It is going to be the debut film of Sonakshi as an actor and Arbaaz as a producer.[2] The film also marks the debut of director Abhinav Kashyap who is the brother of acclaimed director Anurag Kashyap. The theatrical trailer of Dabangg was released on 23 July 2010.[3]
Plot
Dabangg is set in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Salman Khan plays a character with negative shades, in the film. His role is that of a corrupt police officer named Chulbul Pandey also known as Robinhood Pandey. The film tries to highlight the flaws and loopholes in the system.[4]
The film will primarily deal with the unlawful practices in the states of UP and Bihar and the involvement of police in it.[5]

Production
Shooting for the film began in September 2009.[6] Most of the scenes were shot in the town of Wai in Maharashtra, while a song and some important portions were shot in United Arab Emirates.[7] Sonu Sood, one of the cast members, reportedly fractured his nose while shooting.[8] Some portions of the film were also shot in the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi and the Dubai Metro.[7] The film's shooting completed in early June 2010, and it went into post-production.[9]
