American filmmaker?

Dear Wikipedia Readers,

I have been doing some research on Zana Briski and this is the first site that lists her as an "American Filmmaker." Every other page on the internet lists her birth place as London, but she is based in New York. Just wanted to let you know. Does that make her an American filmmaker or a British filmmaker? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.102.181.68 (talk) 13:36, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If she is British, I would say British filmmaker. 70.186.172.75 (talk) 14:57, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

world press photo award?

I am removing the bit that describes her as a world press photo foundation 1st prize winner as I can find no evidence for this. Please correct and re-add with references if I am wrong. Jenafalt (talk) 16:41, 7 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merge

Briski made one extremely notable film, Born into Brothels, and her own notability is 100% based upon it. Merge. --Boston (talk) 13:02, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why merge? she deserves her own article as she has other works, yes she is most notable for "Born into Brothels" but its not the only thing she has done. —Preceding unsigned comment added by PlovG (talkcontribs) 10:39, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
    • Does not need to be merged. She won 1st prize in the Daily Life Stories category in the 2000 World Press Photo competition and has been very influential. I think you need to toughen up Boston.
