Hate Lives in a Small Town is an album by Voltaire. It was released in 2010. He wanted to record this album as a solo acoustic one, but later realised that something's missing, and ended up using a full band. As he said: "However, as I started recording, I really felt the songs sounded incomplete. Early on I thought, well, maybe I'll add some bass. Then I thought, maybe bass and drums... by the time I was done I had added upright bass, drums, dobro, pedal steel guitar and banjo on top of my vocals and acoustic guitar! heh heh... Before I knew it, I had made a fully orchestrated country record!"
