Komaram Puli (Telugu: కొమరం పులి) is a Telugu action film directed by S. J. Suryaah, who previously directed Block busters Vaali and Kushi. The film stars Pawan Kalyan in the lead role as a cop, with Nikisha Patel, playing the lead female role as superintendent of police,[1] Manoj Bajpai, Charan Raj, Nassar, Jyothi Krishna, Bhrahmaji, Ali and Girish Karnad in supporting roles and Shriya Saran appearing in an item number. The film, featuring a successful soundtrack by Academy Award Winner A. R. Rahman, is produced by Singanamala Ramesh on a Rs. 42 crore budget and would be distributed Geetha Arts. The film was sent to the censor board on September 4th and has received an 'A' certificate. The film has been released on September 10th with more than 1200 theaters and 600 prints. Rating 0.5/5 [2].

Komaram Puli is director S.J.surya's huge project and big budget project until now in his career. Initially he planned to make the movie with Akshay kumar in hindi and with actor Vijay] in Tamil he sent bound scripts to both superstars. but nothing has been confirmed. The storyline is also discussed with Malayalam superstar Suresh Gopi. Later, after the confirmation from Mahesh , it was finalised to make in Telugu with Pawan Kalyan in the lead role as the director didn't receive any response from other superstars. Komaram is taken from the surname of the Gond martyr Komaram Bheem, who fought against the erstwhile Asaf Jahi dynasty for the liberation of Hyderabad State.[3]
Release
Komaram Puli has been released with 480 prints world wide, a record of sorts for Telugu Cinema. The release was met two issues. The first issues was that few natives of the village Komaram along with Telangana agitators wanted the name be changed. The producer gave in finally changing the name to 'Puli' from 'Komaram Puli'[4]. The other issue was that the film's release has been delayed by 24 hours in the USA [5]. The Google Trends - India page showed that the terms Komaram Puli Review topped the most searched words in India on September 10th 2010.
Reception
The film gained mixed reviews, maximum being the rave ones. Yet the commercial success of the movie is guaranteed and the critical acclaim is at a stake currently. The reviews as per popular reviewers of Telugu cinema prove its weak script and dud performance by Pavan Kalyan.[6][7].

The soundtrack features 6 songs composed by Mozart of Madras [A. R. Rahman] and lyrics penned by Chandrabose. The highly anticipated soundtrack album was released on 11 July 2010 by Sony Music. The audio was launched by Rahman and his mother Kareema in a function held at H.I.C.C Novotel, Hyderabad. The soundtrack got overwhelming positive reviews and has become a hot seller during revent days. The audio sales reached a total of 7.6 lakhs of CDs in the first three days, which is an all time record in Telugu film history.[8]

Songs did good business .But the movie is getting in more controversies than records .Shanker of Robo feels this movie will not at all be a problem for his upcoming Robo in AP
