Plot

This Story follows the life of Valentina Villalba, a woman to whom life seems good in every way; she is beautiful and has a fortune that her parents left to her when they died. She has a mansion in Mexico City, where she lives with her aunt Isabel Dorantes (Silvia Piñal) and her cousin Ivana (Gabriela Spanic), in which her cousin is very envious on Valentina. Villalba also has her fiance, Alonso (David Zepeda), in which she plans to get married with. What Valentina doesn't know is that Alonso is cheated on her with Ivana. The Situation continues as Ivana has two lovers, Alonso and a man named Oscar Apunjay, who is very ambitious and is married. Ivana ends up killing Oscar with his car. Oscar's wife blames Ivana, but later blames Alonso. The table's flip as Valentina hour to get married came. Dressed in white, she waits for Alonso to come, but never arrives, due to his plan to escape with Ivana, but eventually Alonso ends up taking a different flight. After hours of waiting, Valentina is left at the altar after reading a note saying that his fiance has dumped her. That's when she becomes a desperate, bitter woman who chooses to isolate herself and go live in the hacienda Los Cascabeles, where she starts a new life. That's where she finds Rosendo (Sergio Goyri) abusing Iluminada, a servant that works at the Cascabeles. Valentina lays down the law and kicks Rosendo out of the hacienda, but eventually after a match, hires him as her foreman. The people of the region hate her, because Rosendo, her foreman, "allegedly" follows her orders, and since most of the people believe this, they have given her the name of 'La Vibora' - Spanish for the Viper. Isabel and Ivana as well as their servant Benita, eventually moves to the Cascabeles. As the story continues, Valentina meets Jose Miguel Montesinos, a rich land owner. Jose Miguel's parents Federico and Leonor Montesinos move in their hacienda. Leonor has never appreciated their old hacienda and wishes to return to Mexico City, But Federico Montesinos desires to stay in the land in which he should of never left. Jose Miguel eventually develops a crush on Valentina Villalba. Federico Montesinos has a disease in which he has a short time left to live, in which he wants to spend in his old hacienda. Federico Montesinos was once in love with with Isabel Dorantes and still is. As the story continues, Valentina begins to fall in love with Jose Miguel after accidentally shooting him. Soon , however, Ivana also begins to fall in love with him. Also, Rosendo also begins to fall in love with Valentina, and begins to challenge Jose Miguel for her. Overtime, Jose Miguel and Valentina finally agree to marry each other, but Jose Miguel's mother does not approve to the marriage. Also, Ivana and Rosendo do not approve to the marriage and join forces to stop it.
