Early life and career

69.86.230.178 13:12, 7 February 2007 (UTC)Added details about Lloyd's early life. As one of those he grew up with in the Linden Houses, I can attest to the personality attributes described. Lloyd has since gone on to great things, and I can only assume he has "mellowed" with age. But his early-life personality is interesting in light of his later career. --Dan Schwartz, MD[reply]

This passage include these comments that were later removed: "He is remembered by some of those he grew up with as brilliant and highly motivated - and as one who at times resorted to highly public personal attack on those who he considered his competitors and rivals. This personality trait is of interest in light of his rapid career rise in a highly competitive industry." -- John S. Peterson (talk) 23:09, 9 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Pot Smoker

Any truth to the rumor he's a pot smoker? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.113.108.172 (talk) 17:56, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ethnicity?

I must confess an interest in the ethnicity (!) of the top CEOs, but is it actually relevant in an encyclopedia? Surely nationality will suffice? Ghostreveries (talk) 16:21, 17 June 2009 (UTC) Ethnicity is relevant and from a purely academic standpoint is interesting. Nationality is largely irrelevant whereas ethnicity often has ties to occupations and reflects trends in industry. No reason to remove this. Bdg4 (talk) 18:20, 21 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do NOT remote the ethnicity. There has been a recent trend to purge the ethnicity and religion of individuals involved in the 2007-2009 financial scandals. Supposedly mentioning religion/ethnicity with regards to this particular scandal is anti-semitic. However, since religion/ethnicity is commonly cited for every other major public figure, especially in cases of wrongdoing, for the sake of fairness, Blankfein's background CANNOT be swept under the rug. —Preceding unsigned comment added by GhostMan1221 (talkcontribs) 04:56, 27 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Winthrop House

Blankfein lived at Winthrop House during his undergraduate years. Nearly 400 people lived there at that time, and additional numbers came and went while he was there. Many of them have had distinguished careers in later life. Why are you pointing to one of them, Bernanke, but not mentioning the others? Surely, most of these associations were of no consequence.

You need to show why Bernanke's presence was significant in relation to Blankfein. It could be important, of course, or it may be utterly insignificant. This is left to the reader's imagination, which suggests something sinister. What is the connection? Fconaway (talk) 17:41, 16 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Made-up connection?

In the politics section, an editor has subtlely led the reader to believe that Goldman's philanthropic contribution was made BECAUSE of Blankfein's comments. Who said the two events are connected?? ask123 (talk) 23:20, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Siblings?

I would be interested in Blankfeins family of origin. Especially whether he has been an only child or has had siblings. Does anyone have information regarding this question? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.64.220.174 (talk) 15:16, 30 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Correct?

Are the salary figures actually correct? They seem extremely high and I find it hard to believe that anybody would accept such a salary given the problems in the world at the moment and the sheer size of these figures which greatly greatly exceed that of a worker on minimum wage. How does anybody deserve such a salary?--109.228.75.116 (talk) 22:35, 10 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
