NBA Elite 11 is a basketball video game developed and published by Electronic Arts (EA). It is the first installment in the NBA Elite series, succeeding EA's NBA Live series. The game's box art features Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant.[2]

Originally planned to be released on October 5, 2010, the game has been delayed until March 31, 2011 due to "concerns about gameplay polish".[1] In the interim, EA will release free DLC for last year's NBA Live 10, including roster updates for the 2010–11 NBA season.[3] Previously, a download code for NBA Jam was to be included with copies of Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of NBA Elite 11, but NBA Jam will now be released as a standalone game for both systems and the Wii.[4]

The game was cancelled on 2nd November 2010, and the franchise was moved from EA's Black Box studio to it's Florida based Tiburon studio.[5]

Features

Controls have been retooled to primarily use the right analog stick for actions such as shooting. New animations have also been added.

NBA Live 10 commentators Marv Albert and Steve Kerr have been replaced by the ESPN crew of Mark Jackson, Jeff Van Gundy, and Mike Breen. [6]

The game features the debut of "Become Legendary Mode", a single-player career mode similar to "Be a Pro Mode" in NHL and FIFA and "Superstar Mode" in the Madden games. [7]

The game's soundtrack will be produced by 9th Wonder and rapper J. Cole and will include the song "The Plan."[8][9]
