About

[edit]

I am Anne and I live in Indiana. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from Purdue University in Sociology and Gender Studies. My main area of research included gender and queer sexuality as represented in blogging and vlogging. I am now a graduate student studying special education with an emphasis on emotional and behavioral disorders. I currently work in an elementary public school as a special educator.

My academic interests are varied and include such topics as computer-mediated communication, critical theory, feminist theory, media studies, pedagogy, queer studies, semiotics, social theory, the sociology of knowledge, and Western philosophy. More recently, I am interested in how individuals utilize technology to find, gather, and share knowledge and how this can be promoted in early childhood and elementary education.
