Rollback (add request)

I have been reverting vandalism for more than a week now, using WP:LUPIN mixed with Twinkle and I think I can handle the controls of huggle now. Mr. Berty talk/stalk 16:10, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I would like a faster tool to revert vandalism because, although I'm not very very active here, I'm an administrator on pt.wikipedia (I'm experienced with rollback there), so I always enter here and have opportunities to fight against vandalism. Besides, I'd like to use Huggle here too, so that I can do a better job. Thanks. ThiagoRuiz (talk) 23:29, 1 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Done Admin on another WMF wiki is good enough for me. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 00:02, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Obvious vandalism going on recently, perhaps rollback to at least as early as 23:54, 15 September 2010? I tried one undo only to find out I can't do multiple undos. Knightwhosayni (talk) 23:52, 1 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not done This page is for requesting the permission itself, not for requesting its use, but it seems someone else ahs taken care of that. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 00:00, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
To paraphrase Justice Potter Stewart: "Vandalism? I know it when I see it." I think rollback would be a useful tool that would enhance my editing. Verkhovensky (talk) 03:35, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm a bit concerned that you haven't warned the editors that you've reverted, per the messages at WP:UWT. Nakon 03:54, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I thought that I was pretty consistent with warnings as I use Twinkle and by my earlier manual reversions. I apologize for any oversights. Verkhovensky (talk) 05:20, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Nakon, do you think that Verkhovensky should not have rollback for this reason? Malinaccier (talk) 22:24, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have about 2500 total edits now. While undoing works, rollback would make the job easier, especially if there have been several interspaced bad edits or vandalism. I don't anticipate frequent use of a rollback, but it would still be helpful when needed. MartinezMD (talk) 02:31, 5 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The rollback has the tools necessary to undo the vandalism quickly, and definitely the WikiProjects in which I support (discographies, albums, songs, films, and others), need very quickly to undo vandalism and show what Wikipedia is not. It is a great help to the revision of articles and others. D6h What's on your mind? 04:20, 5 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I know I just requested for this yesterday, but I made a few mistakes while using it, and got it taken away. I guess you can say I got a little too excited about it. I was using Huggle, which is the main place of my mistakes, which I will not be using anymore, as it's a bit too much for me to handle. But I can assure you that I now 100% fully understand what the rollback is for, and will not revert with it unless it's an very obvious vandalism, and not just incorrect edits. ΣПDiПGSTΛЯT 15:28, 6 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not done - It was specifically removed for edit-warring, not Huggle use. You already raised this with the admin that removed the tool (User_talk:Mkativerata#Re), and he suggested you make a good number of reverts using other methods, such as Twinkle, to demonstrate that you are in fact comfortable with what rollback-worthy vandalism is. I'd agree with that - fight vandalism without rollback for a little while, and ask Mkativerata again. I'm sure he'll be happy to restore it once you've adequately demonstrated you've learned from the mistakes you made. ~ mazca talk 15:39, 6 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have been an established editor for four years (though not active for a while), and have participated frequently in anti-vandalism efforts. I have been using popups for a while, but I would like to try Huggle. Krashlandon (talk) 17:10, 6 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like to start doing some community service for Wikipedia. After all, it is an important public place. Fakewcfrog (talk) 22:32, 7 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
As useful as your past contributions may appear to be, you seem to have little to no experience with vandalism fighting. I suggest you try it out using undo or Twinkle before getting this more advanced tool, but in the meanwhile wait for this to be closed by an actual admin. — Waterfox ~talk~ 22:46, 7 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not done I'm afraid I agree with Waterfox on this. More experience of vandal fighting and of Wikipedia in general would be beneficial. We appreciate all you've done so far and keep it up, but I don't think you're quite ready for rollback just yet. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 23:39, 7 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
