Max von Zedtwitz (born 27 December 1969 in Bern, Switzerland) is a Managing Director at GLORAD[1] and a Visiting Professor at Grenoble school of management, Nyenrode School of Business, University of St. Gallen, and Tongji University.

Von Zedtwitz specializes in international business (especially China, Japan, and Asia-Pacific), innovation, and R&D Management. As an academic, he focuses on global R&D management and reverse innovation in emerging countries. He teaches courses on innovation, R&D management, international management, and doing business in Asia-Pacific to undergraduate, graduate, and executive audiences.

Von Zedtwitz has published more than sixty articles in journals such as the Research Policy, the Journal of International Management, Technovation, and R&D Management. He is an Editor, Editorial Board Member, or Editorial Advisor to journals such as Technology Analysis and Strategic Management[2], the Journal of International Management[3], Creativity and Innovation Management[4], Thunderbird International Business Review[5], Technovation[6], International Journal of Technology Management[7], International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management[8], Global Strategy Journal[9] and R&D Management[10].

An expert on China innovation and global R&D in China, von Zedtwitz is a consultant to multinational firms establishing R&D in China, as well as Chinese firms expanding innovation capabilities overseas. He has written extensively about managing global innovation and managing R&D in China. He is a frequent public speaker at international conferences, corporate leadership seminars and executive education programs, and has given keynotes at e.g. the WEF[11], AOCS[12], UNCTAD[13] and PDMA[14].
