Scoot McNairy is an American actor known for roles in In Search of a Midnight Kiss (2007), Herbie Fully Loaded (2005), and Mr. Fix It (2006).[1] He also plays a lead role in the recently released film Monsters. He is married to fellow actress and co-star of Monsters, Whitney Able.

Early life

His birth name is John, but he has never gone by that name. His dad started calling him Scooter when he was about two years old. "A lot of people are like, oh, it must be some amazing story. But it’s because I used to scoot around on my butt."[2]

Career

During the early 2000s at the start of his career, McNairy was known for his specialization in portraying colorful and individualistic young men with a slightly rebellious edge. McNairy began during the early to mid-2000s, with small parts in films including Wonderland (2003), Herbie: Fully Loaded (2005), and Art School Confidential (2006). He has also been a producer with 2007's In Search of a Midnight Kiss, which he also starred in and is referred to as his breakout film.[3]

He is currently working on a number of new projects as an actor and producer due for release in 2010 and 2011 onwards. These projects include: A Night in the Woods (pre-production) as Brody Cartwright due for release in 2012, Angry White Man (post-production) as Walt, Dragon Day (post-production) as Phil and The Off Hours (completed) as Corey, all due for release in 2011. For 2010 he worked on The Listening Party (pre-production) as Ferret and Everything Will Happen Before You Die (post-production) as Matt.
