Hi Manway. Thank you for your work on patrolling pages and tagging for speedy deletion. I just wanted to inform you that I declined to delete Dr. Rupert Opie, a page that you tagged for speedy deletion because of the following concern: the criterion you used does not cover this kind of page or the reason you specified is not a valid reason for speedy deletion. Please review the criteria for speedy deletion and especially what is considered non-criteria. In future you should rather tag such pages for proposed deletion or start an appropriate deletion discussion. Article is about a TV comedy show character. Hello, and thank you for your help with my new acquaintance with Wikipedia. I was under the impression that all of the information I included in the Northern Burlington County Regional School District was factual, unbiased, and properly sourced. I believe that the information I submitted is important and should be included - is there a way this can be done correctly? Also, I apologize if I am using this "talk" page incorrectly; again, I am new to this. --Jhermesmann (talk) 01:35, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Concern about a biographical article

{{adminhelp}} I have a concern about a biographical article Joseph Jett. Apparently the subject of the article has changed it in the past, removing criticisms. Now tonight, USER:Comix03072011 signs up at 19:17 hours and at 19:21 starts a string of 31 edits to the Jett article in 7 hours. Quite a few of those changes take out criticism of Jett and replace it with glowing reports. Am I seeing things or is this unusual? Thanks for a second look. --Manway (talk) 03:08, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sec.  Doing...  Chzz  ►  03:37, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

(edit conflict) :Looks like you're right to me. I suggest talking to the user and informing him/her about WP:NPOV, WP:COI, etc. in a gentle manner, and work out restoring some of the material that was removed. /ƒETCHCOMMS/ 03:37, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Jeez, fetchy, give me a chance!
Firstly, I have alerted our amazing "Biographies of living persons Noticeboard" - please see Wikipedia:Biographies_of_living_persons/Noticeboard#Joseph_Jett.
Next, as advised, you can of course edit the article directly to address your concerns. For a biography of a living person, you can definitely abolustely remove any unreferenced information - especially if it could be considered derogatory - pending the person submitting it supplying a reliable source.
Speak to the new user - on User talk:Comix03072011. Ask 'em about what they are adding; ask 'em for the sources. Try to explain the need for verifiability. I will make a start on that now; I'll post to their talk page.
In essence: for BLP stuff; if it lacks references, remove it - and then discuss it.
Hope that helps; I suspect my posting to BLPN will help further - but if you do have any further specific concerns, please use another {{helpme}}. Best,  Chzz  ►  04:02, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

(re. reply on my talk) Great, be bold! Excellent stuff. But do also consider trying to contact User talk:Comix03072011 - see what they're up to. Be nice to the new user, and all that.struck; ooh, you did - even better! sorry, I missed it when I first replied Anyway - yes, you're quite right; I shouldn't be here; I should be away from this place, doing other stuff. Gah; I even fail at failing - I can' t stay away, 'coz I can't resist a call for help! Heh. But then again, I'd not have met you, so maybe it is all good. Please...any time, ask me anything you like. Keep up the good stuff;  Chzz  ►  06:38, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Helping Hand Barnstar
Going that extra step, to reach out to a new user, means you deserve this.  Chzz  ►  06:43, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Manway

I posted a question for you on the Joseph Jett discussion page.
