re Hamburg, germany

Hi Alexsoltani - I appreciate your attempts to improve spelling on Wikipedia. However, the page Hamburg, germany is what's known as a redirect from capitalisation. The Wikipedia software doesn't handle alternate or incorrect spellings very well, and can only automatically correct capitalisation at the beginning of an article name (like correcting hamburg to Hamburg). This means we have to create redirects manually for people who might accidentally type Hamburg, germany instead of Hamburg, Germany. This redirect makes sure those people get to the correct page (Hamburg) even if they type the incorrect name. As you can see from this page, quite a lot of people do type incorrect capitalisation every month! If there's a problem with the capitalisation on Facebook, that's something you'll need to contact Facebook about, as Wikipedia has not control over it. However, if you and your friends are linking to Wikipedia yourselves, you can simply link directly to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamburg or to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamburg,_Germany which will also take you to the correct page. Thanks! --Kateshortforbob talk 17:01, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
