GSS - Global Sourcing and Supply is the contracting operation of Bahrain-based BMMI, currently operating in Bahrain, Qatar, Djibouti, Mali, Gabon, Ghana and Sudan.

GSS is a facility management and contract supply operation which provides temporary structures, facility management, and food and hospitality services to commercial enterprises, governmental and NGO clients.[1]

History

GSS began operations as a ship chandler to naval vessels in Bahrain in the late 1990s. The division today operates in seven locations across the Middle East and Africa, providing logistics and service delivery to International Governments, NGOs and Industrial Clients.[2]

The services provided by GSS to mining, construction, agriculture, oil and gas industries include:

Remote Site & Facilities Management Services

The company provides prepared meals, housekeeping, laundry, operations & maintenance, camp retail (commissary) services and leisure requirements.

Provision of Camps and Temporary Structures

GSS sources, ships and integrates the provision of temporary structures for accommodation, kitchens, messing, recreation, offices and retail in remote sites.

Bespoke Rations Supply

GSS supplies temperature sensitive rations in support of military, governmental, NGO and commercial clients in the Middle East and Africa.

Technical Sourcing & Supply

GSS sources and supplies components, spare parts, repair engine parts and FFE requirements to remote locations.

Contract Logistics Services

GSS provides warehousing and logistics services, including handling, shipping and warehousing. GSS runs a pre-positioning warehouse operation in East Africa and provides receipt, warehousing and redelivery of bagged commodity items in support of humanitarian efforts in the Horn of Africa.

Joint Ventures

In 2008 GSS formed a joint venture with ODSCO Catering JV in Sudan to provide catering and camp support services. ODSCO has been operating in Sudan since 1974, providing catering and remote site management services to companies in the oil and gas sector. In January 2010, ODSCO Catering JV was renamed Global Sourcing and Supply Services Co. Ltd.
