New Year's Eve is an upcoming romantic comedy film directed by Garry Marshall.[1] It was originally intended as the sequel to the 2010 film, Valentine's Day, but on December 8, 2010 it was revealed that the film would not be a sequel to Valentine's Day and that Jessica Biel and Ashton Kutcher would play different characters.[2] The film is scheduled for release on December 9, 2011 in North America by Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema.
Plot
The lives of several couples and singles in New York intertwine over the course of New Year's Eve.

On January 31, 2011 it was announced that Halle Berry, who had been originally cast as a caterer, dropped out of the film to fight for custody of her daughter and was replaced by Katherine Heigl.[18][19] In mid-February it was announced that Berry had rejoined the film in a different role as a nurse.[4][20]
Production
Filming
The movie, being directed by Garry Marshall, was initially to due to start December 2010 but was delayed to February 2011 start in New York. Second unit was due to be shot in Times Square over New Year’s.[21][2]
