AeroMobile was established as a joint venture between ARINC and Telenor in 2006 and since January 2010, AeroMobile is a wholly owned subsidiary of Telenor. Headquartered in London with offices in Oslo, Dubai, and Singapore; AeroMobile is a GSM service provider for the aviation industry enabling airline passengers to use their mobile phones and devices in-flight at a cost of usage set by the passenger's existing mobile phone subscription.

The launch customer for AeroMobile was Emirates Airline,[1]. Initial agreements were signed in 2006, certification was completed early 2008 and operational service started in March 2008,[2].

AeroMobile has commitments from Virgin Atlantic, Lufthansa, V Australia, Air New Zealand, Cathay Pacific, Dragonair and SAS. AeroMobile is also teamed with Panasonic Avionics Corporation to offer an IFE integrated solution.
