He Took Her to a Movie is the first single by Ladytron from the album 604. This song recorded for 50 pounds[1][2] with the guest vocalist Lisa Eriksson.[3] Upon release it was named Single of the Week by NME.[4] According to Daniel Hunt, this single "it was sitting on the shelves for six months and it was re-promoted. Then it landed on the right person's desk, and it became single of the week. That got a lot of attention and we had a load of major labels chasing us".[5]

This single was inspired by Kraftwerk's "The Model".[6]
