Bindeshwari Dubey (1921 - 1993), also known by 'Baba', was a trade unionist and freedom fighter 'wanted dead or alive' by the British in the preindependence era of 1940s. He later held the post of the Chief Minister of Bihar from March 25, 1985 to February 14, 1988. Subsequently he acted as Cabinet Minister for Law and Justice and Labour in Rajeev Gandhi's cabinet. He also acted as a transport, education and health minister of Bihar and National president of Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC). He was also a Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee chief before becoming CM of Bihar. He was continuously a member of a legislature, either parliament or assembly since 1952, except 1977-1980(anti-emergency wave), until his death. He was also a undisputed president of State INTUC President till death. In his regime a proverb 'Baba naam kevalam' was famous, which means there is no name except 'baba'.
