Buford High School is a public four year comprehensive high school located in the northern portion of Gwinnett County, Georgia, USA, in the northern Metro Atlanta area. Buford High School serves the community of Buford.
History
The school was opened in 1948. In 2009, Buford was awarded a silver for Highest Percentage of Students Meeting and Exceeding Standards. The award is given by the State of Georgia Governor's Office of Achievement. The school has a student to teacher ratio of 15 to 1.[citation needed]

The Buford Wolves football team has contended for the National Title.[when?] They have lost only three regular season games since the 2000 season and have ranked in the top five of their GHSA Class for the past ten seasons. Since 2000, Buford has secured six state titles and posted one "3-peat," from 2001–03 and one "4-peat" or a "Dynasty" from 2007-10.[citation needed]

The Literary team at Buford High School has won eight Georgia High School Association State Literary Championships (1976, 1980, 1982, 1985, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2010).[1]
Band of Wolves
The Buford Band of Wolves usually feature members from grades 9-12. The Buford Band of Wolves sometimes[when?] features members from 8th grade, and rarely from 7th grade.[citation needed] The band director at Buford High School is Wallace Conrath. The band usually[when?] competes at the Lanier Tournament of Bands.
They performed at the Hall County Marching Band Exhibition.[when?] They were Silver Division overall champions, Silver Division Band Champions, Silver Division Color Guard Champions, and Silver Division Percussion Runners-up at the Lanier Tournament of Bands.[citation needed]
