Thank You for the Music: A Collection of Love Songs is a compilation album by ABBA, and was released in November 1983 in the United Kingdom by the record company Epic. This compilation of 14 songs mostly containing songs from ABBA Albums or single B-Sides but does include singles I Have A Dream, The Day Before You Came, Chiquitita, Eagle (Not released in the UK) and Thank You For The Music released as a single off the compilation. This also contains the Spanish version of "Fernando", which was the first time this version was released in the UK.
The album peaked at #17 in UK Charts breaking ABBA's run of consecutive number 1 albums in the UK starting with Greatest Hits in 1976 to ABBA The Singles: The First Ten Years in 1982. As ABBA never recorded any new material in 1983 Epic decided to release to boost ABBA sales due to the decline on ABBA's sales in 1982. The album to some people confirmed the rumors that ABBA have split up and will not be reforming as many people saw the album as a goodbye from ABBA. Also seen as ABBA's goodbye song "Thank You For The Music" was released as a single in the UK in November 1983 with Super Trouper's album track "Our Last Summer" which is included on the compilation as the B-Side the single peaked at #33.
