I would like to become a confirmed user. I wish to upload fair use screenshots that have a better image to depict http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yinling in the article.

I attempted to do so in the WikiCommons, but I was denied from uploading screenshots. The image that was used before, prior to 2011/09/17, depicted Yinling in her wrestling outfit, so I wish to use an image that depicts her outside of the outfit. Also, the screenshot I was thinking of would come from here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FUVuQMtE0g&feature=player_embedded#! presenting a more contemporary image of her for the article. The image would be cropped and low resolution.

 Not done Both of them are living people. We can only accept free pictures of living people and these images should be uploaded to the Commons. You do not need to be confirmed to upload images there. Hi. I have written most of the content for Snow (musician) page. The biography of a living person is based on a plethora of researched articles a and court documents (all of which are cited). Thus, I was hoping, I could get "semi-protected status" for the article because frequently, unconfirmed users and vandals erase all of my article and replace it with unsourced material. I am happy to work congenially with people to improve the article but it is not productive when a vandal comes in and just simply removes all of my material.  Not done, This is the wrong place to ask for page protection. This board is to ask for confirmed rights. If you want to request a page be protected you must ask at WP:RPP. Usually unless the vandalism is frequent the page won't be protected. Taking a quick look at the history it doesn't seem to be frequent enough to justify protecting the article. You can still try by asking at WP:RPP and letting an admin that takes care of that look at it if you want to. GB fan 21:59, 21 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
