Confirmed (add request)

User:UWECMatSci100

I am requesting confirmed rights for the permission to upload images to the page Hycrete as part of a project assigned to me in a Materials Science class. The images are copyrighted but we have emailed the company for their permission to use them and have received confirmation. UWECMatSci100 (talk) 02:02, 29 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Not done Unless the company agrees to freely license their photos, they are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia per Wikipedia non-free content criteria #1. -FASTILY (TALK) 06:16, 29 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

User:Chesteria 785

I am requesting permission to upload fair use images (video game screenshots). Thank you! Chesteria 785 (talk) 19:21, 29 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Question: Please list the games you would like to upload images for and why the articles for those games need those images. -FASTILY (TALK) 19:32, 29 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Answer: No problem, I would like to add a screenshot of the mobile version of Phase 10 to the Phase 10 entry. Chesteria 785
Why does the article need the image? There is no mention of a video game version of Phase 10. Adding this image would be an outright violation of Wikipedia non-free content criterion #8. -FASTILY (TALK) 20:06, 29 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I apologize, I should have been a little more thorough with my answer. I would be expanding the article to include mention of the mobile versions of the title and using the images to support this entry. I was also hoping to do the same thing with the Rubik's Cube article as it makes no mention of the mobile versions of the game.
Please expand the articles first, then upload the files (At any rate, you'll be autoconfirmed by then - i.e. the system will grant you the ability to upload files) -FASTILY (TALK) 20:24, 29 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good, thanks a lot!
Closing as  Not done -FASTILY (TALK) 23:21, 29 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

User:Zeromancer44

The section "NBA Statistics" in the Article "Dirk Nowitzki" is not up to date, though it is claimed to be so "as of June 12,2011". In fact, the latest All-Star Game and its results are missing, you can check that by clicking on the given link (22). Furthermore I would like to add the information that Nowitzki is one of only five members of the 50-40-90 Club. Zeromancer44 (talk) 00:10, 9 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Not done Dirk Nowitzki is a good article. You should discuss the changes you want to make to the article on the talk page first. GB fan 01:51, 9 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

User:StumpyNZ

I have registered today in order to create an article. I have performed a number of edits over several years as an anonymous editor (mostly grammar and spelling edits and addition of references - although none that I can remember specifically off-hand), but have never felt the need to register until today.

I have read the new article guidelines, but having gone through a draft for approval process I now find the article caught in a talk page limbo - I'm not even sure if anyone else can see it yet and can't find clear instructions to submit it for review. I am confident that it is well-enough formed to release to the main wiki and have found instructions for doing so, but can't do it because I haven't been auto-confirmed.

The article is encyclopedic, referenced and not a puff piece. StumpyNZ (talk) 11:29, 9 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not done The directions for submitting your article for review are in the blue box near the to of the article. One of the lines says "If this submission is ready to be reviewed, click here and hit save to request a review". The "click here" is a blue link. If you click on it and save the article it will be submitted or review. GB fan 13:53, 9 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I did see that link at one point, but saved without clicking the the "click here" link. At that point the "click here" link became unavailable (I did look for it) and I was stuck in talk page limbo. I have since been contacted by another user who has provided me with an equivalent "click here" link. The article is now submitted for review, however I think the publication path for AFC articles should itself be reviewed. Given that this is the newbie publication path, it needs to be harder to derail than one missed click. StumpyNZ (talk) 19:53, 9 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Considering how impossible it actually used to be for new editors to create an article, the process now is significantly better. The AFC process us always up for discussion - see the talkpage for WP:AFC (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 20:17, 9 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Noted, thanks. I am now trying to upload images to the article (my own photos, to be released to the commons), but can't do that unless I'm confirmed either. StumpyNZ (talk) 22:55, 9 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

WP:IMAGE; WP:COMMONS does not need you to be confirmed (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 00:44, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Are you sure about that? I've tried both of those links now. Both give errors when I try to upload the image. I get this error from Special:Upload (linked from WP:COMMONS): "The action you have requested is limited to users in one of the groups: Autoconfirmed users, Administrators, Confirmed users." WP:IMAGE says: "Logged in users with autoconfirmed accounts (meaning at least four days old and at least ten edits) can upload media to Wikipedia." If non-confirmed users can upload images, please provide a direct link. StumpyNZ (talk) 05:02, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Commons:Special:Upload. Though of course, if you're not logged in on Commons when you try to upload, it obviously won't work. -FASTILY (TALK) 00:49, 12 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I wanna be editing articles on New York City, State of New York, and most importantly, the September 11 Attacks cuz these stuff are very important to me and to the NYC fans! So puh-lease confirm me so I can do a helping hand on Wikipedia!

Oppose - Editor's history (such as this) indicates a little time spent reviewing pages and making minor edits to get xer feet wet would be useful. --Tgeairn (talk) 04:34, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I was hopping to edit the article Bapatla. I have been told that I will be auto confirmed in 1 day (before two days). However, waiting for 2 more days didn't give me the edit access on this article. Could you please consider confirming me? Thanks.
