Konstantinos "Kostas" Mitroglou (Κωνσταντίνος Μήτρογλου) (born 12 March 1988) is a Greek international footballer who is currently playing for Atromitos F.C., on loan from Olympiacos F.C..

Club career

VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach

He was born in Kavala Krinides, in 1988, but soon after he and his family moved to Germany, there he was signed to VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach youth team in 2002, and in 2005 made it to the first team.He scored 24 goals at the age of 11 in his team Maura Poulia in 16 matches .

Olympiacos

After making an impression in the 2007 UEFA European Under-19 Football Championship, Mitroglou was signed by Greek champions Olympiacos CFP.Making a few substitute and starting 11 appearances for the Piraeus based team in his first season, Mitroglou scored his first Super League goal for the club against Levadiakos and more notably scored the only goal in the Greek Super Cup clash against AEL 1964. The promising striker was instrumental for Olympiakos during the last fixtures of the season 2007–2008 netting several goals and helping towards the claim of the league trophy.

On 16 September Mitroglou scored the first goal in the 2–0 UEFA Cup 1st round, 1st leg victory away against FC Nordsjælland. Season 2008–2009 saw limited playing time in the starting 11 for Mitroglou. The then coach Ernesto Valverde preferred to play with Diogo Luis Santo as the lone striker.

In the 2009–10 season, Mitroglou has featured in almost every Olympiakos match, and has seen him net his first Champions League Goal and also netted 2 goals against arch rivals Panathinaikos. Mitroglou got his opportunity seeing as the other Olympiakos strikers were injured, and has grasped those opportunities with both hands playing very well as the target man.[1] He was Olympiacos' topscorer of the 2009–10 season with 14 goals (9 in the Greek League, 1 in the Greek Cup and 4 in the Champions League).
In 2010–2011, as Ernesto Valverde returned to Olympiacos, despite scoring a fantastic goal in the championship's premiere, Mitroglou counted only a few appearances.
He took part in the international match "8th Match Against Poverty", in 14 December 2010, in G. Karaiskakis Stadium in Greece, playing for Olympiacos All Star team, scoring his team's 2 goals.

Panionios F.C.

On the 11th of January 2011, his six-month loan to Panionios F.C. was confirmed.
On his debut with the team, he scored 2 goals against Aris, in Kleanthis Vikelidis Stadium, in a historic 0-2 win for Panionios, after 50 years in this stadium.
He finished the season in Panionios, having scored 8 goals in 11 matches (8 in Panionios and 1 in Olympiacos = 9 goals total), having helped very much the club to stay in Superleague.

Atromitos F.C.

On August 2nd, 2011, he signed with Atromitos F.C. for one year, on loan from Olympiacos, as he wasn't part of the plans of Olympiacos' coach, Ernesto Valverde. On August 27th, made his debut at his new team, in the away game against OFI Crete, competitor for the last 20 minutes of the game. The result was draw (1-1). On September 11th, scored his first goal, and gave the win to his team (0-1), against Aris. In the next match (his first at Peristeri Stadium), against Panathinaikos, on September 17th, scored one goal, but the end result was a draw (1-1). On October 1st, he scored twice, at home victory against Panetolikos (2-1) and he was the man of the match.
