Name
I'm sure the name is a reference to Art Garfunkel and John Oates, but I'm wondering if it references in particular the Simpsons episode Lisa's Rival which features a band of "second bests" including Garfunkel, Oates, and Jim Messina. --Saforrest (talk) 19:13, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
Here is an interview they did with the Wall Street Journal[1]--Nick4leader (talk) 09:40, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
Notability
For the editor questioning the notability of the subject (from WP:BAND):
- Criterion #1: "Has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent from the musician or ensemble itself and reliable." [2][3]
- Criterion #6: "Is an ensemble which contains two or more independently notable musicians, or is a musician who has been a member of two or more independently notable ensembles." Kate Micucci and Riki Lindhome are notable on their own.
- Criterion #10: "Has performed music for a work of media that is notable, e.g. a theme for a network television show, performance in a television show or notable film, inclusion on a notable compilation album, etc." [4][5] (though it's perfectly sufficient to cite the show itself with {{cite episode}})
Any one of those is enough. If you still have an issue, I suggest taking it to WP:AFD. Kafziel Complaint Department 06:44, 16 December 2009 (UTC)

Slightly more than a stub, not quite an article
This is one of those articles on a topic that while notable, doesn't have enough independent, reliable sources available to bring it to the status of an article. I did some quick cleanup. The {{cite episode}} suggestion above would be helpful, as would incorporating the bust.com article linked above. The links to videos as sources appears a bit spammy/promotional, but I don't think it too much of a problem.
I think it would also help to include dates of mentioned events, if it is available, to create a better timeline (eg when did they meet, when did they form the duo, etc). --Ronz (talk) 02:53, 17 March 2010 (UTC)
