In a recent interview with a local newspaper in the city of Salt, president Ikhleif Tarawneh stated that BAU currently holds the capacity of 33,000 students, while the students enrolled in the university programs exceed 46,000, which resulted in a huge strain on the campus buildings, academic staff and learning process. In the same interview, president Ikhleif Tarawneh promised to work on these issues as soon as possible, and he also ordered to reduce further student enrollment by 25% for the academic year 2011/2012(Link in Arabic [2]).
