My Admin Policy: I trust that my fellow admins' actions are done for the good of Wikipedia. So if any of my admin actions are overturned I will not consider such an action to be a "Wheel War", but rather an attempt to improve Wikipedia. If I disagree with your action, I will try to discuss it with you or with the admin community, but I absolve you in advance of any presumption of acting improperly. We should all extend the same benefit of the doubt to our fellow admins, until they repeatedly prove that they are unworthy of such a presumption.

WikiProject Administrator

Hey there. Hope you don't mind, I added your User:NoSeptember/The NoSeptember Admin Project page as a link from Wikipedia:WikiProject Administrator. This will give it wider exposure. Regards, œ 18:56, 4 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That is fine, although many of the pages are a bit out of date - but anyone who wishes to can bring them up to date. Thanks, NoSeptember 20:42, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

question of admin data

Hi, NoSeptember,

Thanks for reading. I have found the project of admin made by you about graphs and some data. For my research, I want the list of admin in en.wikipedia with promotion and retired date. Do you know where I can get such data from? thanks very much!Zeyi (talk) 13:47, 22 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there! I spotted a small error in a link on this page and corrected it (diff) - thought it would be easiest to fix it myself - hope you don't mind. Regards. Mato (talk) 13:06, 9 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate any updates on these pages, even though sadly they are now several years out of date. Cheers, NoSeptember 22:34, 9 November 2011 (UTC)

User:SebastianHelm/Sheep vote

Just so you know, I deleted User:SebastianHelm/Sheep vote because it doesn't represent my view anymore. However, some of your userspace pages still link there; so, if you (or any of the many people who worked on this while it was in project space) want it in your userspace, please feel free to restore it. — Sebastian 08:06, 7 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the note. We all change our opinions as we go along, I'm sure that some of the things I have written and placed in my Admin project no longer represent my current views. I leave them because they still represent the historical views I had, and may agree with someone else's current views. It is something for anyone to read over and ponder, and either agree or disagree with as they choose. NoSeptember 21:30, 11 January 2012 (UTC)

MSU Interview

Dear NoSeptember,

My name is Jonathan Obar user:Jaobar, I'm a professor in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University and a Teaching Fellow with the Wikimedia Foundation's Education Program. This semester I've been running a little experiment at MSU, a class where we teach students about becoming Wikipedia administrators. Not a lot is known about your community, and our students (who are fascinated by wiki-culture by the way!) want to learn how you do what you do, and why you do it. A while back I proposed this idea (the class) to the communityHERE, where it was met mainly with positive feedback. Anyhow, I'd like my students to speak with a few administrators to get a sense of admin experiences, training, motivations, likes, dislikes, etc. We were wondering if you'd be interested in speaking with one of our students.

So a few things about the interviews:

  • Interviews will last between 15 and 30 minutes.
  • Interviews can be conducted over skype (preferred), IRC or email. (You choose the form of communication based upon your comfort level, time, etc.)
  • All interviews will be completely anonymous, meaning that you (real name and/or pseudonym) will never be identified in any of our materials, unless you give the interviewer permission to do so.
  • All interviews will be completely voluntary. You are under no obligation to say yes to an interview, and can say no and stop or leave the interview at any time.
  • The entire interview process is being overseen by MSU's institutional review board (ethics review). This means that all questions have been approved by the university and all students have been trained how to conduct interviews ethically and properly.

Bottom line is that we really need your help, and would really appreciate the opportunity to speak with you. If interested, please send me an email at obar@msu.edu (to maintain anonymity) and I will add your name to my offline contact list. If you feel comfortable doing so, you can post your nameHERE instead.

If you have questions or concerns at any time, feel free to email me at obar@msu.edu. I will be more than happy to speak with you.

Thanks in advance for your help. We have a lot to learn from you.

Sincerely,

Jonathan Obar --Jaobar (talk)
