Dekha Ek Khwab is an Indian drama television series. It is the story of Moniya, a girl who makes a wish to become a princess. Her wish comes true overnight and she becomes a princess. It is scheduled to air every Monday to Friday at 8:30 PM. The series premiered on November 21, 2011.[1]
Plot
The plot revolves around Moniya, a poor girl who discovers that she is actually a princess named Rajkumari Manyata, and was kidnapped at the age of three. She grew up believing that Murari, the man who had kidnapped her, was her father, but then had to face the fact that she was actually the daughter of king and queen Maharaj Brijraj Singh and Maharani Komal Devi. Moniya/Manyata is also shocked to learn that Rajkumari Jaynandini, the younger princess, is her little sister, as they are not on good terms. Yuvraj Udayveer, the son of the royal family's close friend, turns out to be Manyata's fiance; they had been betrothed to each other since childhood. Manyata however is in love with Akash, a middle-class young man whom she had been acquainted with before she found out she was a royal.
Jaynandini has a strong dislike for Manyata because Jaynandini loves Uday and does not want him to get married to Manyata. Uday, on the other hand, has no interest in Jaynandini.He at first wanted to marry Manyata so that he could control both the states being the rightful partner, but slowly, through their constant bickering and without realizing it at first, Udayveer falls in love with Manyata. Overall, the four characters become stuck in a love square; Jaynandini loves Uday; Uday loves Manyata and Manyata loves Aakash.

Moniya/Rajkumari Manyata
Moniya/Rajkumari Manyata is played by the Indian actress Priyal Gor. She is the daughter of the royal family of Devgadh , i.e. a princess. She was kidnapped by a watchman when she was 3, so she had been away from her family for 16 years.Even though she was unable to adjust with her royal family at the beginning,she is slowly learning to respect and accept her family and turn into a regal princess. In the present scenario, she is shown to love Aakash, her boyfriend from her before-turning-into-a-princess-life, whom she desperately wants as her life partner.
She is portrayed as a smart, bold and ongoing person ,still,a bit of naivety is still there. She describes herself as a light-bulb who provides light to everyone around her.She has a very childlike mind and does not realize what consequences her actions will lead her to. Currently, she is shown to be trying hard to turn herself into a respectable princess on one condition that she gets to stay with Aakash forever.
Yuvraj Udayveer (Uday)
Yuvraj Udayveer is played by the Indian actor Ashish Kapoor. He is the male protagonist who is destined to be Rajkumari Manyata's better half in the long run. He is shown as a handsome, cunning and dashing prince who previously did not believe in love, but changed when Manyata came in his life. She was the first girl who hasn't paid any attention to Udayveer and doesn't want anything to do with him. This is what attracts him even more to her.At the beginning of the show ,he was just interested in princess Manyata's will but her one-of-a-kind attitude made him fall for her.He is shown to greatly care about Manyata and has a great deal of respct for Rajmata.Even though he still strongly holds the belief that everything he does has to be for his state, he is shown to be under pressure,and always seems to be conscious about whatever he is doing due to the fact that some wrong things said by him might affect the prestige of his state in the media's eye.There is something about his character which shows that he is like a coin with two sides i.e a Jekyll and Hyde character.
Rajkumari Jaynandini (J) Rajkumari Jaynandini is played by the Indian actress Shritama Mukherjee.J as she is commonly known is a Parallel Female Protagonist. She is the pretty, spoiled, and bratty younger daughter of the royal Singh family. She is mean but occasionally pretends to have a heart of gold. Usually, J tries to find ways that she can benefit in life and generally does not care for others. However, she cares for her grandmother and does not like it when Rajmata gets upset--especially for a reason that J caused. J is normally shown in mini dresses, miniskirts, and rather short clothing. She dislikes Indian dresses but wears them if she needs to. She has two friends, known as K and L. They sometimes have influence over J's decisions in life.She is also shown to be in good terms with her cousin Vijaypanna , who often encourages her to make plans to land Manyata in trouble.
Before Manyata's arrival ,Jaynandini was in a pick-and-drop relationship with Udayveer. She has known him since she was a child and her sister, Moniya/Manyata, is supposed to marry him. She thinks of Uday as a "perfect husband" due to the fact that he is rich, handsome, clever, and has a almost similar personality like her. However, he is not an option for her, since Rajmata had already given her word 16 years ago to Maharaj Giriraj of Jaigarh to bind the two state's relations by marrying Devgarh's elder princess to the prince of Jaigadh. Other than this, J first meant to marry Jagat, a man who Rajmata selected for her.
